Remcom Executive Leadership |
|
Stephen A. Fast -- President
Dr. Stephen Fast has
been an integral part of Remcom’s growth since 2002, leading
the Government Service Division for the company. Holding a PhD in
mathematics, Dr. Fast brings broad understanding of Remcom’s
core expertise and many years of research and development. In
addition to his previous role as Remcom’s Executive Vice
President, Dr. Fast has held R&D positions at the Applied
Research Laboratory at The Pennsylvania State University, The Applied
Research Laboratory at the University of Texas at Austin, the
Atlantic Research Corporation’s Electromagnetic Environmental
Test Facility, and the U.S. Army Signal Corps. His research pursuits
include: near earth propagation, electromagnetic propagation modeling
and techniques, cellular phone modeling methods, computational
electromagnetics, evaluation of tactical communications, and
intelligence systems. These intellectual enterprises have shaped a
remarkably broad range of professional accomplishments at Remcom,
such as the development of the Electromagnetic Propagation Integrated
Resource Environment (EMPIRE), novel algorithms in radio meteorology
and a single point urban geolocation method based on urban
propagation predictions. Dr. Fast has also led Remcom in a highly
successful collaboration with the Penn State Meteorology Department,
which focused on the development of atmospheric interpolation methods
for anomalous conditions that may be used in support of radio wave
propagation.
Christopher W. Penney -- Principal
Dr. Christopher Penney
is a co-founder of Remcom. He has extensive experience in the
development of XFdtd®, particularly in those aspects related to
interaction with biological materials. He is an active member of the
International Committee on Electromagnetic Safety, TC34 SC2: Wireless
Handset SAR Certification. He served as the principal investigator on
the Air Force funded effort that led to the development of Remcom’s
human body repositioning tool, VariPose®, and the Army funded effort
that led to Remcom’s Rotman Lens Designer™ tool. He also has
expertise in the development and application of high frequency
diffraction coefficients and application of FDTD to radar targets.
Dr. Penney holds a PhD in electrical engineering and has authored
numerous publications and articles dealing with electromagnetics.
Scott Langdon -- Chief Technology Officer, Product Manager
Scott is a co-founder
of Remcom. He is a developer of many of the technical capabilities of
the FDTD solver at the heart of Remcom's first product, XFdtd, and
has shaped the design and function of the XFdtd® graphical user
interface. He is a research engineer whose interests include
analytical mathematics, specialized materials, and electrodynamics.
Scott is also the product manager for the XFdtd family of products.
In addition to the EM
expertise of Remcom’s executive leadership, the company’s
staff of software engineers, research engineers, and application
engineers possesses the technical competence to produce EM tools that
continue to lead in our market. With advanced degrees in mathematics,
computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering,
computer engineering, and physics, among others, Remcom’s
talented technical staff is the company’s most valuable asset.
