Remcom Product Licensing
Remcom provides you with a choice of license methods. Licenses incorporate Macrovision’s FlexLM technology and are designed to work on Windows, UNIX, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Mac OS X operating systems1.
The basic license is node-locked, which allows the user to designate the one system where the software will be used. The license can either be hosted on the designated computer or on a network-shared computer.
For an additional cost you may upgrade to a floating license. (The cost is a percentage of the value of the Remcom tools being floated.) With a floating license, a server is designated as the license manager and any computer on the specific network may utilize the license until the user limit is exceeded. The floating license will also function on a mix of platforms and operating systems within your network.
The last license option is a hardware key. With this option Remcom will provide an Acresso FLEXnetID hardware key. This key attaches to a USB port on your computer and provides an ID that is recognized by the license. The main advantage of the hardware key is portability as you may easily move the hardware key between different computers.
You may request your choice of license scheme when you place your order. Or, if no specific scheme is requested, we will ship the most convenient license for your particular system.
