As CAD modeling programs have evolved, many companies have accumulated libraries of CAD files for their products. In new product development, CAD modeling is often one of the first steps in the process. XFdtd^® has the ability to import a wide variety of CAD model formats, saving you many hours of work.

Because CAD models are usually done in very great detail, the models that an engineer has to work with may contain many complex parts. Much of this detail is not needed by XFdtd for the purposes of generating a mesh. However, while some simulation packages may ask you to simplify your files before importing them, XFdtd handles the most complex files quickly and efficiently. And XFdtd's patented meshing engine converts complicated models to FDTD meshes in a fraction of the time of previous versions.
